Who qualifies

You must be under 65, have a severe and prolonged disability that regularly stops you from doing any substantially gainful work, and have contributed to CPP in 4 of the last 6 years (or 3 of the last 6 with 25+ years of contributions).
'Severe' means you cannot regularly do any type of substantially gainful work, not only your last job.

Your dependent children may also receive a monthly children's benefit.
At 65 the disability pension automatically converts to a CPP retirement pension.
