Canada Workers Benefit
A refundable tax credit that tops up the income of people who work but earn a low wage. There is an extra amount for workers with a disability.

Up to $1,633/year single or $2,813/year family, plus $843 disability supplement
Who qualifies
- You must have working income and be a resident of Canada, 19 or older at year end (or living with a spouse or child).
- Full-time students without a dependant generally do not qualify.

Claim it on your tax return
File your taxes and complete Schedule 6. Tax software does this automatically. You may also get advance payments through the year.

- It is refundable — you receive it even if you owe no tax.
